The Video element to Media Production Support Services provides a variety of audio and video-based resources for faculty and staff use. Studio production, video teleconferencing, portable field production, post-production editing, media duplication, and distribution services are available.
Studio Production Support : Our classroom-style studio is equipped with two plasma televisions, three fixed cameras, a document camera, laptop computer, character generator, video teleconferencing equipment, and a variety of media source devices (VCR, DVD, etc.). Productions range from basic micro-teaching programs to fully scripted productions.
Portable Production Support : We provide portable production equipment and operators for recording of guest speakers, panel discussions, seminars, workshops, performances, video teleconferencing, and other special events on campus.
Media Duplication : Our facility is equipped to duplicate a variety of media formats; audio formats include cassette tape, CD, MiniDisc, and digital audio files (WAV, mp3, etc.); video formats include VHS, DVD, MiniDV, HI8, and digital video files (mpeg, avi, etc.). Regional coding and format conversions (PAL, NTSC, etc.) are also available.
Distribution : Programming is distributed via hardcopy or can be broadcast on campus cable. The Instructional Services building serves as the head-end for a 104-channel cable network. Media Production manages the content for several campus-produced channels. Additionally, we are serviced by two downlinkable satellite feeds.
Consultation : In addition to solving technical problems, our team can deliver creative script formatting, directing, on-screen talent, and voice-over talent.
